Unique: A B Corp in parcel delivery
Amsterdam, March 14, 2023 - As of today, MyPup is officially a certified B Corporation® (a company with social and environmental benefits). With this achievement, the logistics service provider joins the ranks of more than 6,500 companies worldwide, including Triodos Bank, Tony’s Chocolonely, Dopper, Yoni, Patagonia, and Ben & Jerry’s. Over the past few months, the organization has successfully completed the comprehensive B Corp assessment, achieving an impressive score of 80.3 (organizations typically average around 51 points). MyPup provides sustainable parcel delivery and logistics solutions by first consolidating packages from various couriers at central hubs outside the city and then delivering them all at once to nearby package stations using bicycles or electric transport. Since 2014, MyPup has operated as a B2B solution for office and residential buildings.
A driving force for sustainable change
With this certification, MyPup meets high standards regarding the social and environmental impacts of the logistics sector. "We are very proud of this recognition," explains Luke van der Wardt, CEO and co-founder of MyPup. "Since our inception, MyPup has been committed to being a 'force for good.' We believe that the power to bring about change lies in the hands of businesses. As a B Corp in the logistics sector, we are more than happy to be part of the global movement for an inclusive, fairer, and more sustainable economy." In the future, MyPup will continue to collaborate with the B Corp community to inspire the rest of the world to make positive changes and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). MyPup particularly focuses on Goals No. 8 "Sustainable Cities and Communities" and No. 11 "Decent Work and Economic Growth."
B Corp = Benefit Corporation, companies with superhero potential
A B Corp is a "Benefit Corporation" that demonstrates that one can be commercially successful while also making a positive impact. Thus, B Corps contribute socially in the categories of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. However, being a B Corporation is not a static matter on which one can rest their certification. MyPup will be reassessed and recertified in three years, with the goal of significantly improving its score. This is making MyPup one of the first B Corps in parcel delivery! How Does MyPup Work?
Through MyPup, you can receive, send, and return your packages. MyPup first consolidates packages from all couriers at central hubs outside the city and then delivers them all at once to nearby package stations through bicycle couriers or electric transport. This sets MyPup apart from other providers. The packages are securely delivered to lockers in public places, where users can pick up their packages at their convenience. This eliminates the need to inconveniently visit various package stations in the neighborhood to retrieve packages. MyPup significantly reduces the number of daily package delivery vehicles entering the city, thus reducing congestion and CO2 emissions. Additionally, MyPup enhances road safety. Read more here.
